This place is a woodworker's paradise! I've spent countless hours here, turning sawdust into sawdust-covered masterpieces. The community of makers here is incredibly helpful, even when I try to explain my latest project mistakes using only hand gestures and the occasional unintelligible mumble. Besides great tools and great people, there is plenty of storage space...so If you decide to build a giant robot - there is plenty of places to keep it before it takes over the world.
An excellent community and amazing resource. Can't recommend this place enough
I have spent thousands of hours here, from 2010 - 2015, and again from 2022 until now. This is the largest and most capable Maker Space I've seen, and I've traveled to many, both in the Twin Cities, and across the country. The capabilities are amazing. A full wood shop, blacksmith area, metal shop, machine shop, laser cutters, 3D Printers, textiles and crafting, and more. I first came here to have a place to make traditional wooden longbows, and have since branched out into making furniture, siege engines, shields, and have learned a great deal about woodworking, laser cutting, and 3D printing. Although the capabilities the space offers are what you notice first, the true value lies in the community. Over 500 people are members here, and every time I come in, I meet makers who are willing
Went there for a tour to see if I wanted to join. It seems to be a great community maker space. They have spaces for electronics, 3D printing, metal working, woodworking, blacksmithing, sewing and more. It's is run by volunteers and is a 501c business.
Can’t recommend this place enough. Been a member for nearly two years and the facilities, community, and educational opportunities here are one of a kind. Whether your an experienced maker looking for shop/tool access or new and looking to get started and learn some skills, this is the place to you. Membership is affordable, and we are really lucky to have some amazing tools here that you’d be hard pressed to find at another cooperative shop.
