Really recommend hairstylist Leo for coloring and haircut! I was able to achieve the hair color I wanted, and he went over the expectations which did not disappoint. I am loving my new hairstyle and will definitely come back. Hairstylist Leo is truly the best in Oakland with reasonable prices.

Silvia (formerly of Hair House) is a hidden gem. Her work is precise, with attention to detail. I bring her a reference photo to work from, she cuts it just like that, and unlike pretty much every other hair stylist I’ve ever been to in my entire life, she does NOT tell me that I have fine, thin hair. I already know that, I’ve had it all my life! I just need her to do the best she can with what I have, and that’s what Sylvia does. She’s great. Highly recommended!

Note that hairstylists individually rent salon space here, so I recommend choosing a stylist you trust over walking in. I did a walk in one process color to dye my hair back to dark brown and I wasn’t expecting anything fancy, but my stylist was just so rough with my hair to the point that my scalp hurt. He seemed nice but didn’t really consult with me before going to mix color, and the overall process seemed pretty amateur. He charged $60 (another stylist said she charged $100, and she seemed more experienced so again it really depends on who you choose), but because the color didn’t really come out to what we agreed to and the overall roughness I won’t be going back.

I asked for 3 inches off today. My stylist took 30 minutes and chopped off 6-7 inches of my hair. No layers or anything. Just straight across, 6-7 inches off. I’m literally shocked speechless right now. My wedding’s in a few months so I can only hope it grows back enough to look the way I want it to
