First time there... I love the people and the service. Peaceful and relaxing environment. Great customer. Nice people. Customer service is a biggie for me, along with attitude. I went to this place to get tree braids and had to go back twice because the braids kept unraveling. She did not knot them properly and I asked her to use glue on the ends and she refused. She got an attitude when told her if she did my hair right the first time, I wouldn’t have had to keep returning. I live an hour away from the shop! She got very defensive. I will never deal with this shop ever again.

I've been getting my hair done at Fama's for years. Even when I moved 45 miles away, I wouldn't go ANYWHERE else to get my hair done. They are the best in Oakland, no lie.

Fama’s African Hair Braiding IS.the best PERIODT!!! I read various reviews for different hair braiding places and I was a little skeptical until I saw beautiful heads going out the door one by one as I was in chair getting mine done. I walked in there with VERY damaged hair and I walked out looking like new money! I kid you not! Also they are clean neat professional and NOT ALL LOUD talking over you and also NOT a bunch of people hanging around etc and they were also wearing masks etc and wiping stuff down and spraying Lysol etc after each use and hand sanitizer! I was super pleased and this is my new spot! I already told several people about them and sent pics!
