I came here twice since I live in NY. The first time was for a trim and blowout which turned out nice. The second time I came I got a haircut and wanted a bob style. Kay took his time and did a great job with it. I wish I lived closer.

He’s great at hair cut not for hair color/bleaching. He refuses to give suggestions on what cut or color to make it better so you need to have a clear idea of what you want or what looks good for you. For hair cuts he does a great job getting all the details right in reference photo, but also going above and beyond to make it even better. For hair color, he got the right color but I don’t think he added enough developer and bleached it too much. The hair color started to wash out really easily after 1-2 washes leaving behind the bleached bright orange color without dye.

My main hair stylist for over 7 years and he’s been amazing this entire time! Really knowledgeable on how to cut Asian hair, super efficient, and really comfortable/chill for the cut! ✨✨✨ He also is great for straight perms! (Magic straight)

Been seeing him for about two years now, a gem here in Berkeley. Only thing is he’s very busy, so do expect to have to book 1-2 weeks in advance for an appointment.

I don't normally give bad ratings but this experience overall made me not want to go back here ever again. Pros: When I first scheduled the haircut the owner said that they were booked 2 weeks out but called me back saying that a 6:30pm slot was available for the weekend if I wanted to get my haircut earlier. Cons: When we arrived at 6:30pm, the owner was by himself and was waiting for us...I could sense that he wanted to get out for the day and when I asked if we should start with a wash he said that was unnecessary. When he asked for what I wanted I gave him very clear directions, but he immediately began cutting the sides really high and tight.
