A Cut Above

I have been looking for a local salon in Clayton that could do my thick and colored hair for what seems like forever. I was traveling to Raleigh and it just became too far and way too expensive. I started seeing Tina a few months ago and she has nailed my cut and color ever since! I have gone completely gray but still like to add some light blonde in and I was worried about her matching my color but she did and I get compliments on it all the time. She also gives THE BEST blow out. My hair can last for almost a full week and look perfect after she blow dries it. All the ladies are super down to earth and it’s so nice to have such a wonderful salon minutes from my home and work!

The stylist Samantha took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and delivered flawless, natural-looking color that perfectly complements my skin tone. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, she was professional and attentive. I’ve never felt more confident walking out of a salon—highly recommend for anyone looking to refresh their look with expert care! I’m coming back for sure!

I have been getting my haircut at A Cut Above for 14+ years. Now, my children also get their hair cut there. There is a family atmosphere in the salon, any day you go. Clayton is lucky to have a business like A Cut Above that has provided such consistency for clients for such a long period of time.

I'm picky... I don't say anything I just don't go back. I had the same hairdresser since I was a baby in NY. I moved to SC spent 15 years finding a hairdresser to repeat business. Then I move. Had a horrible experience twice.. found a lovely woman from NY who did my hair out of her home then due to health issues couldn't anymore. After careful consideration I decided Samantha was my girl. I will sing it from the rooftops that everyone needs to see this woman. She was phenomenal!

Sherry the owner is awesome. I get so many compliments on my hair. I got a cut, high lights, and a keratin process done by Sherry. My hair has never looked better. I highly suggest ACut above.
