Wax With Riss

I met Marissa when I first moved to North Carolina a few years ago. At the time, she was waxing at another salon, and I immediately appreciated not only the quality of her work but the care she took with her clients. She somehow made waxing feel less intimidating—partly because she’s amazing at what she does, and partly because she’s so easy to talk to (sometimes you really need that distraction 😅). When I found out Marissa was leaving that salon, I reached out right away to figure out how I could continue being her client. I live in Durham, and when I say the drive is worth it—believe me, it is. Marissa is passionate, personable, caring, client-focused, and incredibly knowledgeable—everything you could want in a wax specialist. Do yourself a favor and go see her ASAP.

BEST AND I MEAN THE BEST EYEBROW WAX! I’ve never waxed my eyebrows before or even touched them because I’ve always been too nervous for someone to mess them up. I went to Marissa for the first time a couple months ago and she made me feel comfortable and it was the best experience ever. I will never go to anyone else she will always be my go to eyebrow lady:)! She listened to what I wanted and to this day I still go to her regularly for my eyebrow wax ! Amazing service ! Very friendly ! Amazing work! Love her ! 10/10 I would recommend :)

Marissa is truly amazing! It’s rare to find someone who combines technical expertise with such an authentic, grounded personality. I trust her completely and that says everything. If youre looking for professionalism, comfort, and knowledge Marissa is the girl!

Marissa is so amazing!! She is very friendly and does a great job with my waxing EVERY TIME! I would recommend her over and over again!

My queen Riss deserves more than 5 stars. She always makes sure I feel comfortable during my appointments and I prefer hard wax than the stuff nail salons use. She’s always stocked with snacks and beverages.
