I’d been following the Yes Her Instagram account for a few months and I really appreciated Elaine’s energy and attitude towards hair. So when I found out she was popping up in NYC, I had to go! She was very patient during my appointment and took her time when asking about my relationship with my hair. She was very transparent the entire appointment about all the ways she was washing, detangling, conditioning, trimming and styling my hair and shared products to add to my routine. She sent me home that day with the most defined and hydrated wash and go that I’ve ever gotten at a salon. I was beaming. It’s been 3 weeks since my appointment and I’m so happy with the shape and health of my hair. I’ve incorporated the tips and products she recommended into my routine and my hair is thriving. I

This was my first hair appointment after cutting my almost 7-year-old locs, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Elaine was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable from start to finish. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, with soft jazz music playing, which made the entire appointment feel intentional and unhurried. She took the time to explain the products she was using on my hair, why she chose them, and what I should purchase for at-home care. I went to Elaine for my first professional curly cut and I’m so happy I did. From the start, she really listened to my hair concerns, took the time to learn my curls, and treated and styled my hair accordingly. She’s very educated and informative, and explained what she was doing and why, which made me feel super comfortable. On top of that, her personality is wonderful and welcoming. I absolutely love how my hair turned out and I’m already excited to come back in 3–4 months for a check-in and trim. Highly recommend!
