Yao Barber Shop

So, for the second time in my long life, I decided to grow my beard out for Movember/Decembeard. This is the only time of the year my job allows us to have facial hair. I started at the end of October and had a pretty good length by the start of December. I was getting a lot of flyaways though, so I figured I'd go to a barber to clean it up. Neither the barber nor his receptionist speak much English, but I tried to explain to them them I just want my beard trimmed to look well kept. I didn't want any trendy styles though, because I'm older, but there was no way to communicate that to them. When the barber sat me down, he rotated the chair away from the mirror, so I couldn't see what he was doing. Next thing I know, he's using clippers with a #1 attachment and cutting upward, AGAINST

I’ve been coming here for about six months now, and I can honestly say this is the best barbershop in the area. The shop is always clean, the service is extremely professional, and the haircuts are consistently high quality. The prices are very affordable—honestly, I think they should be charging more for the level of service they provide. I’ve been to many barbers in this area, and nothing compares to this place. My kids love coming here too, which says a lot. Thank you for always taking great care of us!

Great place, great price, great cut! It is clean, easy to get an appointment, and lots of parking. They take cards and cash which is convenient too. Full face shave is great here as well!!!

I have been coming to the barbershop since Lyn and Tony took over (back when they had a mini fridge full of free soda & water for customers). Prices shot up in 2022, but have since come down. A cut is $24. There are several highly-rated barbershops in Torrance that (in my opinion) charge way too much for a haircut and have the occasional bad review on Yelp. When I found Yao Barbershop on yelp I was a little apprehensive to visit a barbershop with only four reviews but wow was I glad I did. Both Lyn and Tony have cut my hair and I am satisfied every time. My cut is simple (trim with scissors on top, #3 on the sides and taper) I'm in and out in 15 mins. I have very sensitive skin on the back of my neck so I usually avoid getting a taper and shave on the back, but with Lyn, I have not exper
