I would like to say how much I appreciate Diego, who cut my 2yo daughter’s hair, and another stylist who worked with my 8yo and gave her layers with bangs. They both made sure I was comfortable with the haircuts and did a great job making my daughters feel at ease during the entire session. Ruby, the salon manager, was incredibly patient with my two daughters while doing their nails as well. They were giggling the whole time, and she made them feel relaxed and turned it into such a fun experience. Not every salon is this accommodating to kids! Sydney also played music while doing my daughter’s nails, which I really appreciated. She spoke to her kindly and was so patient. Angela did my gel nails, almost like a Russian manicure but cheaper and even nicer

I had the best experience at Y Salon in San Mateo! Li completely exceeded my expectations and I absolutely love my hair. I came in with some inspiration photos and explained what I wanted, and she was so thoughtful and attentive throughout the entire appointment. She took the time to ask me questions and clarify details about the cut, making sure it was exactly what I envisioned. On top of that, she gave me the best head massage ever — such a relaxing bonus! I left the salon feeling refreshed, cared for, and so happy with the result. Highly recommend Li if you’re looking for a stylist who truly listens and delivers!

The results are amazing! Diego did a great job with coloring my hair from dark brown to this gorgeous shade of dark coppery red, and my hair texture is still relatively intact. Daniela did my Gel x nails, and they are SOLID and beautiful. The staff were overall friendly, and Yvonne was very helpful with selecting treatments and compatible hair color.

My first time there. Nail art by Daniela was good, but pricing felt off. I had actually sent a picture of the nail art beforehand and was quoted around $20, so being charged $50 at checkout for fairly simple nail art was a shocker. This was on top of a $50 manicure, and at checkout they also added Gel-X pricing, bringing the total to $160. I had to ask for a breakdown and explain it was my natural nail. After some back and forth, the total was reduced to $144 for manicure with nail art plus pedicure plus tip on top of that. Polish brands were okay, but they didn’t seem to carry OPI — mostly cheaper brands. Pedicure was mediocre to be honest. The nail tech seemed new and the pedicure was just okay. Overall, it was fine, but the price felt high for the quality of work, so I probably would

I came to Y Salon in need of a new color and hairstyle, and from the very beginning the experience was seamless. My consultation went smoothly, and I was so ready that they even offered to do it the same day. We scheduled for the next day, and I’m so glad we did. The way the staff checked in on me throughout the process was incredibly kind and welcoming. Diego did my color, and not only was he great to chat with, but he truly went above and beyond—even helping me extend my parking time in the garage. The customer service was absolutely splendid. Once everything was finished, I felt myself glowing—I was extremely satisfied. A huge thank you to Diego for giving me the best blue hair I’ve always dreamed of.
