I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my recent experience at the Walgreens pharmacy in Idaho. I was without my prescribed diabetic medication, Invokana, for several weeks. During this time, Walgreens had already submitted and received payment from my private insurance. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, the pharmacy failed to reverse the paid claim in a timely manner, which prevented me from obtaining my medication elsewhere. I was extremely concerned about going without my diabetic medication for such an extended period. I was told that no complications would occur; however, being without necessary medication for weeks placed my health at risk. I had a prescription antibiotic to pick up, and I came in about an hour after it was sent, hoping it would be ready. I understand having wait times, so naturally I wasn’t too fussy when they said it would be half an hour to an hour. During this time, I roamed the store, found a few things and purchased them, then sat in the chairs by the pharmacy waiting. After about another hour and a half of waiting without receiving a text or call, I decided to get in the line (which was about six customers long at this point) to talk to the pharm tech. When I was eventually seen (after about another 30 minutes in line), not only had my prescription not even been processed into the system, but they didn’t even have the information necessary to contact me once the prescription would have been ready. I shop here on the daily. Many of the employees are rude and seem unhappy. Tonight I had my first encounter with Amber. She was very knowledgeable about the products I asked about, and helped me find the right ones for me. I can tell she was exhausted but she was still very warm and welcoming, even when the customers before me were extremely rude. Amber is THE ONLY reason I'm rating this Walgreens 5 stars.

Allowing someone to hold up the drive-through pick up line for more than 25 minutes is absolutely insane. If there is an issue with someone’s prescription/insurance, then they should be instructed to either come inside or come back later when it is ready. What should’ve been a quick pick up for my medication that was already filled, I was instead in the drive-through for almost an entire hour and ended up having to leave without my medication because my baby was crying.

I had an issue with the Walgreens app, where it created a new order for a prescription when I transferred the pickup location from this location (the app showed incorrect dates for fulfillment versus what they could actually do). The app created it as a new order as part of this process, causing the new store to cancel it due to "being too soon to refill" and also cancelled the order at the original location. The other location said they couldn't do anything for me, but this location solved it in a 90 second phone call. The Walgreens app gets one star, because there are constantly issues, but this store in Ammon gets five stars all day. I'd rather drive the extra mile to go here moving forward.
