Stay away from this salon at all cost! The stylist in charge of my keratin treatment was extremely unskilled, and even after clearly failing, they neither acknowledged the mistake nor apologized. They took payment for a haircut that was scheduled for the following day and refused to refund it. The manager, who knew nothing about the situation, blatantly sided with the stylist simply because they are on good terms, and ended up kicking the customer out of the salon despite the obvious failure. They could have refused to do the haircut if they wanted, but not refunding the money is unreasonable. My hair was cut more than 20 cm shorter than what I asked for, and despite receiving a keratin treatment, my frizz and waves were still there. For these reasons, I did not feel it was worth paying a

Tristan @ Velvet Monkey Salon is an absolute ROCKSTAR! I’ve been going to her for years — I even followed her when she moved to Velvet Monkey because she is that AMAZING. She has literal magic hands and gives the BEST shampoos ever… like, melt-into-the-chair level relaxation. I have blind trust in her to do whatever she wants with my hair, and somehow it always turns out even better than I imagined. At this point most of my family goes to her too, which says everything! The whole Velvet Monkey team is so friendly, the music is always great, and the vibe is just fun and welcoming every single visit. Highly, highly recommend!

Best atmosphere ever! Adrianna Burke was my stylist and she’s worth more than every penny! I mean it when I say she got my hair cut so perfectly because she listened paid attention and knows what’s up! I’m not good with my words at all and she understood me 😊 Everyone there is awesome and kind with amazing styles, check this place out!!!

I had an amazing experience with Destiny! She is an absolute perfectionist when it comes to applying bleach, toner, doing blowouts, and cutting. I requested ice platinum highlights with a solid color at the nape, and she absolutely nailed it. The results were stunning and exactly what I envisioned. The atmosphere was casual and comfortable, and conversation with Destiny was easy and enjoyable throughout. On top of that, her pricing is very reasonable for the high quality of work she delivers. I highly suggest and recommend booking with her—she is fabulous! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I have been going to Velvet Monkey in The Plaza for 10 years and I have never had a poor experience. I am always greeted with a smile right when I walk in. The waiting area is inviting with things to entertain if you have a short wait. Coffee. Water. Amazing Pins for purchase. It has been so great that now most of my immediate family are clients (at least 10!). Shout out to Sarah P. and Cat M, two top notch stylist in OKC.
