UC Hair Salon and Waxing

I had a great experience at this salon. As a first-timer with this place and not super knowledgeable about getting highlights or hair in general, I was so thrilled when I got exactly what I was picturing. I called the day before and got an appointment easily. The whole process took about 3 hours, broken down as follows: ~1 hour: bleaching ~1 hour: toning. Without this step, my hair was all shades of yellow. ~1 hour: rinsing, shampooing, sitting under the dryer, blow out, flat iron Service: throughout the process, the hairdresser made sure to ask me if I’m doing okay constantly. The only time I felt pain was during the blowout because it was hot against my scalp. But I also think my scalp was super sensitive because of all the treatments I just put on it since I normally blow dry on high

Wax is great, she always makes sure I am comfortable and okay. She is always respectful, sweet, addresses my concerns, and never makes me feel rushed. She is beyond down to earth and her prices are so affordable for amazing work. Took about ten minutes for my Brazilian this morning, and she didn't miss a hair! I wasn't in pain the entire time and I am a huge baby when it comes to waxing a lot of the time. No pain, great prices, amazing woman. I couldn't be happier with my experience and HIGHLY recommend coming to her!

The lady in the salon that cut my hair gave a terrible haircut. Just because there were a couple of people waiting in line after me, she felt very rushed and very sloppily cut my hair. She was done in a matter of minutes, and she seemed to be in a great hurry to get to her next client. I had to tell her that I did not like the way that it looked and told her specifically what to fix. She seemed a bit put off when I told her this, and she very hurriedly made the adjustment. Even after the adjustment, my hair still looked terrible. I felt it was at a point beyond repair and did not even ask her to fix it again. I ended up paying $15 for the haircut with a $2 tip- a total of $17. For the price, the haircut was not at all worth it. I feel as if I could have done a better job by myself at home.

Nothing special about the salon itself, but the quality of the hair services is very good. The owner had been there for a very long time and has a lot of clientele and even takes walk ins... She also rents space part time to my favorite stylist and I've been seeing her for 18 years. It's a small place and the street parking is mostly limited to trap hours and a good lot of that is paid parking, so I strongly recommend the garage. The prices are reasonable and you won't need to move your car of you are getting a longer service done. The walk from the garage is just two blocks and the blocks are not large, so it's pretty close.
