I love Samrawit's work! I've been seeing her since April 2025, and she's helped me feel confident with maintaining my hair and wearing natural twisted/braided styles. My hybrid twists always get so many compliments! I'm a forever client!
I had a great experience coming here during my internship in DC. I got a well needed silk press and hair cut, my ends had not been trimmed in 4 years so this was the perfect place to start regrowing my natural hair. It’s been since November when I got my hair done, and I don’t know what talk did but my hair had been growing like weeds. It’s also thicker and fuller compared to before the trip. Thank you so much for giving my hair potential. 💕
I hade a wonderful experience at Thrive Hair Bar in DC today. It was very clean and professional. My stylist was Jamese and she was wonderful! She was friendly and took good care of me. The wash was truly a spa like experience and I loved it! Great job Jamese and the Thrive Hair Bar DC Team!

They use a complimentary hand-held steamer on your hair with wash service. For the moisture treatment, a deep conditioner was applied, and I got under the steamer. As for service, the receptionist was very pleasant and professional. She offered a beverage while I waited for my stylist I chose a better and spinach shot (see photo), which I thought was lovely. The salon feels like a spa...the aroma, decor, vibe, etc. It was so rel
Overall it was an ok experience. I believe I had Chris as my stylist. The ladies were all very kind. Enviornment was clean and Chris was very gentle with my hair. It was very luxurious feeling and very relaxing and quiet environment. My main critique was that Chris didn't really speak to me which I understand may be a part of the whole 'relaxing'/quiet environment thing. However, I expressed to Chris that my hair was damaged and that I was not experienced in taking care of my hair. I wanted her to talk to me more about managing natural hair and any tips she had for me but she kind of just smiled and kept her responses very short. I think she was more focused on the actual hair appointment and not on the entire process of having clients leave with a better understanding of their natural ha
