Essence Head Spa & Massage

I booked an appointment after a long week at work, and it turned out to be one of the best self-care decisions I’ve made in a long time. The massage was gentle but effective, and the scalp treatment felt amazing from start to finish. You can tell a lot of attention goes into making guests comfortable. I almost fell asleep because it was that calming. Everything felt clean, professional, and unhurried. I had such a good time and will definitely be coming back again.

I was SO happy to go to Essence Head Spa in downtown DC! I’ve been traveling ALOT lately and living on an airplane so my body has been in knots ! They were OVERLY accommodating ! I was blessed and grateful to receive the 4 handed massage! Amy and Alice are so kind and thoughtful ! I can’t wait to Come back with my mom and get a zen scalp ritual ! I’m excited to have a mother daughter spa day in DC! I can’t wait to come back. The ambiance here is so peaceful!

Amazing! This head therapy shop is definitely a treasure! Recently, I've been under a lot of work pressure and my hair has been falling out a lot. A friend recommended me here, and I fell in love with it completely. As soon as I entered the door, I was greeted by a faint aroma of essential oil. The environment was particularly comfortable, and I instantly felt relaxed. AMY, who served me, was extremely professional in her techniques. From shoulder and neck relaxation to head massage, every step was just right. Especially when washing your hair, that professional massage technique makes you feel every pore of your scalp opening up to breathe. The warm water flow combined with the refreshing feeling of the essential oil is truly soothing!

Amy was wonderful and so kind to me. She did an amazing job! It was my first time there but she is so welcoming and even though there was a bit of a language barrier. She used a translator, which I found so adorable. She definitely got deep into my stress areas around my neck and shoulder which only hurt because of how tight my back felt. But she educated me on how to make it feel smoother.
