This experience is two parts! The first 45 minutes is like being in a bonus episode of the series, where you are a potential patient at Hawkins until stuff goes sideways. It’s very clever how they immerse you into the experience and I loved it for that alone. What I thought it was going to be was like a selfie museum. So I was very pleasantly surprised that it was more than that. This is the future of theater it felt like! The second part is the Starcourt Mall, which is a small expo of different familiar vendors like Scoops Ahoy. The food is like frozen food so go in with low expectations, the drinks are super overpriced. There’s dope photos ops like the Christmas lights wall in the Byers house, some murals and neon things, and Vecna. The photo ops could have had more moments but they wer
Staff was very welcoming and happily provided the ultraviolet light I'd requested. Restrooms were clean and free of owls. Found a 5 dollar bill in the parking lot, nice. Don't miss the tour of the sub-basement - it connects to the section of the Seattle Underground that was sealed off after the cranium rat plague in the winter of 1889 during the reconstruction after the Great Fire (read my full review of the speakeasy/gift shop over on Yelp).
The Stranger continues to be the pulse of Seattle's populace. My only complaint would be that it needs to cover the alternative, subpop and urban art scenes more oftenly. It especially becomes amazingly important during election periods and I love it when the Stranger wracks through the mud.
I hear they hire really exciting, provocative writers and are forward thinking and maybe like The Voice of Seattle? Idk, just what the cats & I are hearing on the street 😎
Strongly biased, often rude reporting that sometimes makes me ashamed to be a liberal. If you want to change minds, yelling at people, calling them racist, homophobic, or stupid will not accomplish the end goal. Great arts section. I always love the cover.
