The Elms Hotel & Spa, a Destination by Hyatt Hotel

We had a fantastic couples getaway here. The grotto was relaxing and perfect. Staff was friendly. Our room was clean, spacious and bed was comfortable. Love the charm of this hotel. It smells so good everywhere. We also enjoyed the outdoor hot tub. Had some drinks at the bar also and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

I had an amazing experience at The Elms Hotel in Excelsior Springs. From the moment I walked in, the place felt warm, historic, and well taken care of. The staff were friendly, helpful, and genuinely made me feel welcome. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had that perfect mix of charm and modern comfort. The spa and pools are honestly the highlight — relaxing, peaceful, and worth every minute. The property itself is beautiful, with a quiet atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind. Everything from the service to the amenities exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, great hospitality, and a unique historic vibe, The Elms is absolutely worth it. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Positive: The peaceful environment it provides guests. Negative: We have stayed here many times. The mattress on the bed was not only uncomfortable but we woke up with backaches. That has never happened before.

We had a wonderful anniversary stay and truly enjoyed our time at The Elms. From the start, the experience felt relaxing and special. We loved unwinding in the evenings in the hot tub, which was the perfect way to slow down and reconnect.||||The spa was a highlight of our trip. Both my husband and I had Swedish massages for relaxation, along with our first professional facials. We left feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and glowing. The grotto experience is one of our favorites we’ve ever been to and truly sets The Elms apart.||||Dining at Three Owls was excellent, as expected. Although we didn't bring our own, it was nice to see folks with their dogs. There was a bit of barking, but only heard as we traveled through the hallway and I think it was just a couple of furry friends greeting each other. Never heard a sound of a dog from our room. We did have a loud door closing across the hall. I was able to change the heat/air system to have the fan running constantly to help with some white noise. I love sleeping with white-noise and would recommend bringing a fan or something like that so that it isn't too quiet. The space was clean and the staff was pleasant.
