Hidden Gem. It’s got a rustic feel in a once vibrant shopping strip but the service is great. Elegance Nails uses the best cleaning techniques- alcohol sprays on all tools and barbicide individually wrapped new tools. It’s a common DC thing of: do you go into a tastefully decorated nail salon and find out you overpaid and they didn’t clean their tools - or you can walk in here (even though it’s not much of a looker) and get great service an always clean tools? Also the price is great and so are all the grannies and grandpas working there.
I was going there for 22yrs and they've been fired. I did this because the owner that I've known for years is cool but the nail designs are too plain now and I got tired of leaving there looking the same. I felt like they made it about money. I never cared how much my nails cost, but when I specifically ask for something and you say its expensive, I didn't ask you that, I asked for it and that's what I want. Or certain designs they're not really privy to. So I exited stage left✌
They finish a manicure in 30 minutes but I waited 30 min to be served, so no time saved. They told me I would wait 20 min, and the whole time 2 of the 3 technicians sat around chatting or playing on their phones. The place is dirty, the staff unfriendly, the manicure painful and extremely uneven so that I had to redo it at home. They asked for $35, which it wasn't worth but when I gave them $40 and asked more than once for my change, they would not give it. I asked if they were refusing to give my change and they said "Yes" because it was her tip. So they do a bad job then bilk you. Not worth the pain and health risk to go in there.
I’ve been coming here for about 10ish years so I’m a loyal customer. Tina always does an amazing job with my nails, no complaints. For the price and quality of the service I’ll continue coming.
The first time I went to this place I found it good for their prices, paying $ 14 dollars for a full set. I found a good price. But now it has an absurd way of charging you, because if you ask for a little longer they cost you more, but if you ask small it costs the same. Since they charge more to make them bigger then it should be cheaper when they are smaller.Well that's my point of view. That's why I do not visit that place anymore.
