Special Haircut

Great cut. Great price. Connie is super friendly and has a strong understanding of how to cut a variety of hair types - especially in my case of very straight, asian hair. I would even say comparable to the quality of places that charge more than double her price. No frills place, walk-in and cash only. Make sure to tip well, she deserves it!

Love Connie! My Barber retired so wandered into her place. We laughed, we joked. I said high and tight, she said I got it. Mentioned she'd not done a Flat Top for ages. I said screw it and do it. First Flat Top. Fast, professional, affordable, funny. Great haircut, great price, huge personality!

Worst haircut of my life. Cuts are advertised inside for $25-35 but she charged me $45 (no wash or dry) for “layers” and TWISTED A CHUNK of my hair (my bangs) and bluntly cut straight across, COVID self haircut style. She cut off a good 12” and it looks nothing like the long bob photo I showed. When i tried to stop her, she pushed to cut even more (and she did). I want to Luigi myself

I've been going to Connie for probably 10 years or so. She is incredibly kind, the haircut is of course solid, and it's still one of the cheapest places to get a haircut. It's cash only so don't forget that. I've moved all over SF but still make my way to Special Haircut and it's easy to get to on Bart and Muni.

I've been going to Special Haircut for almost 6 years. Every cut has been consistently very good, and I trusted Connie to cut my hair for my wedding far more than any upscale salon charging 4x the price (it came out perfect). Special haircut has always priced their cuts as low as they could afford, and even though they had to increase prices due to landlord troubles and the pandemic, it is still one of the cheapest cuts around. The second time I got my hair cut, Connie remembered all of my preferences for the cut, and everything else we had talked about -- her memory always surprises me.
