Snip 2 Curl

As a curly hair girl, this was the BEST haircut of my life. Stylist Dr. Mama knows EXACTLY how to work with ANY kind of curly hair. She transformed my frizzy, hopeless hair into shiny, naturally-forming curls and helped me embrace my curls again! She immediately recognized why my curls weren't forming naturally, which was due to previous barbers not using the right scissors or techniques. She showed me the right scissors to use for my hair and used unique cutting techniques to make my hair feel so healthy and for curls to naturally form and retain without even having to style them. She walked me through every step and snip, reassuring me that she understood my hair. I usually don’t leave reviews, but I was pretty disappointed by the service. I moved to the neighborhood recently and went to Snip 2 Curl because of its great reviews. My hair is thick and wavy, so I was clear about asking Sammy for shoulder length and weight to be taken off—nothing too involved. However, she cut it a lot shorter than I wanted and left most of the bulk in. It’s still poofy in the back, uneven on the sides, and not the look I wanted. (First pic in blue shirt is what I used to get from Kaori’s salon when living in Japantown. Other two pics in brown shirt are from today.) Sammy tried to make it work and I appreciate her time, but the result was far off from what I asked for. I honestly felt like crying in the chair because it aged me and didn’t resemble my request at all. O

I don’t normally leave reviews but I had to because of how impressed and happy I am with this curly cut from Dr.Sammie! As a curly hair girl I find it hard to trust most people with a cut especially since I care to keep my hair’s length while still maintaining its health. My hair lacked shaped and was in desperate need of a trim. I told Dr.Sammie I wanted to kept my length but have more layered curls similar to a butterfly cut in straight hair. Dr.Sammie was very professional, she spoke to her years experience . She kept it real and told me what needs to be done to an achieve the look I wanted and she took her time to get it right! She was very kind as well and wanted to make sure I liked what I saw in the mirror, she told me to come back if I didn’t like it once I styled it at home the

Winnie did an amazing job educating me on my hair and giving me exactly what I wanted! I’m so happy I found her and can’t recommend her enough! Definitely stop in and call ahead to set an appt!

Winnie is amazing!! She is the best with my highlights - she does a great job blending and is so thorough everywhere not just on the top. Also her prices are unbeatable!! Literally all my friends go to her now she’s the best!
