Ry's Studio

Just got my monthly haircut at Ry’s, and after a couple years of being a client, felt like it was time to add my review. Ry is a top-tier professional and craftsman in the hair business. When I came to his studio, I had just left another barber after a bad experience, so I was pretty wary of trying a new barber. Ry put my mind at ease with his attention to detail and nailing my haircut on the first try (and every visit since then). I have straight, thick Japanese hair, and it’s very easy to tell when an unskilled or undisciplined barber cuts my hair - with Ry it has been spot-on every time. Ry’s Studio is a laidback, single chair, live-work shop that shares a space with his lovely family and two dogs. Ryan is not only one of the best barbers in Seattle, but also one of the finest barbers I’ve experienced in the country. Moving is always stressful for me because finding a new barber to trust is exhausting. I’m proud to have had fantastic barbers in the last 5 states I’ve lived in - but man, If I ever leave Seattle I’ll miss Ryan the most!! I’ve been seeing Ryan for ~4 years now and have never once been disappointed. Excellent attention to detail and his fades can’t be beat.

Went to Ry's Studio for the first time yesterday. I've only been living here for 9 months and I've struggled to find a good barber, but Ryan gave me one of the best cuts I've ever had. His attention to detail is impeccable. His fade-work and blending are incredible. I can't stop looking at the cut in the mirror. Definitely going back.

Ryan has been cutting my hair for about a year now. His rates are affordable, his place is nice, and he is both friendly and professional! Occasionally there’s a barking dog or loud kids upstairs. But that’s no bother. I highly recommend Ry’s Studio!

Ryan is amazing. Probably the best fade in Seattle. I’ve now followed him to three studios before he opened his own shop. He takes care and time with the haircut so be ready to spend an hour. I have a crazy beard and the straight razor work is pure class. Usually tough getting in so I book through the site in advance by about a week. From a personal standpoint there’s been a few times where I have been in a jam and he’s carved out time for me, even if that means his little boy is around the studio. Overall a great guy who really cares about the craft.
