The photos speak for themselves. What an absolutely awful haircut! I now have to deal with an uneven, choppy mess that will take years to grow out. My hair is, well was until yesterday, all one length. Yesterday (12/9/25) I went to Ruby’s Cut and asked Ruby for a very simple 1–2 inch trim, straight across the bottom, plus a bang trim. That’s it. Ruby asked if I wanted layers and I emphatically said no. Instead, she bizarrely cut random pieces of my hair much shorter and at varying lengths than the rest — so randomly and short that tufts stick straight out of my braid like I’ve been electrocuted. It looks completely ridiculous. The photos speak for themselves. In dismay, when I asked her what she did to my hair, she started yelling at me—I was stunned. English is not her first language, a
I had a very uncomfortable experience at this salon. I identify as male and asked for a men’s haircut, but I was repeatedly told I had to pay extra for a women’s haircut instead. The service I received was a standard men’s cut, yet I was charged more based on my appearance rather than the actual haircut. This felt discriminatory and disrespectful. During the situation, my partner was also touched without consent, which made things worse. I expect businesses to treat customers equally and price services fairly. Unfortunately, this visit did not reflect that.
Show up on time or change your hours. This is the 2nd time I’ve shown up at 10-10:15am and they’re not open. This time, there were 3 other people waiting outside so I’m not going to wait an extra 45 minutes after she eventually shows up. I just wasted an hour driving from North Beach and going back home. Haircuts are decent.
She was amazing with clippers, idk why other ppl gave a bad review. She was an expert and gave me a v fade exactly like I hoped. Super nice and cute vibe in the shop too.
Good people and a good haircut. Executed my request fantastically and for a great price. Highly recommend.
