Nails 2000 of UTC

I'm visiting from out of town and Nails 2000 is walking distance from the Hyatt Regency. It's always a gamble finding a good salon when you're from out of town. This place was wonderful. I called first and they got me in right away. Got a pedi with callus treatment and an acrylic fill. The folks there could not have been any nicer or more welcoming. It was such a nice, relaxing experience. They even did both services simultaneously. Nails look great. Price is right too. I'll definitely be back when I return to LA Jolla 😃

I’m really sad to be writing this review. My family and I have been going to this place since I was a little girl. I have always loved it and the staff has always been so sweet. However, I went in yesterday to get my nails done and they unfortunately turned out pretty rough. The shape looks very bad and there is a weird texture to the nails. I had no intention of leaving a bad review, I just wanted the nails to be fixed. I went back in today, and asked the lady at the front desk if a different girl could just fix the shape of my nails and make everything look more even. She told me the same girl had to fix them, which doesn’t make any sense to me because obviously I wasn’t happy with what she did. I recently visited this nail salon for a simple polish change and was genuinely shocked by the entire experience. The total came to $76, which I found outrageous for just changing the polish. When I questioned the receptionist about the price, she tried to normalize paying almost $80 for something that should be straightforward. It felt like there was no respect for the value of my dollar, and I was basically brushed off as if this was completely normal. What made it worse was the attitude and service. The nail technician seemed visibly unhappy about having to help me, and although I couldn’t understand the language spoken, it was clear there was some kind of dispute about taking my appointment. She was quite rough with my hands and didn’t show any care or professionalism. To add to that

My manicure experience was painful with my technician who multiple times hurt me while she was taking off my previous builder gel nails. I felt warm and painful at least 4/5 times and my nails started to break on the second day. She didn’t have enough experience to remove them and left very thin nails. My pedicurist also done in 20 minutes didn't feel professional. They were very pushy regarding tips and services. My total visit is gel Pedi and gel Mani was includes tips $117 Psa I had previous pedicure first time with some different staff I loved it and returned it but very disappointed in second visit.

Recently I have had terrible experience at this place. I was getting my nails done by Kim Nuyuh. First of all, she was rough and hurt and toes and second, she literally stopped working on my nails till she received a confirmation on venmo that she has received the tip. Owner of the place, please make sure your employees do not do that. It’s not like I wasn’t gonna tip, but this behavior is ridiculous. People who are reading this, please use your money wisely and go somewhere else till the owner does something about it.
