Nail Studio San Carlos

I usually love coming to this salon and I never write negative reviews, but I was really disappointed with my visit yesterday afternoon. I came in to have my acrylics soaked off. When I arrived, they didn’t seem prepared and had to find someone who could assist me. The technician who helped me grabbed a few acrylic nails, and at first I thought she misunderstood what I wanted. Instead, she began forcing the clear acrylic nail underneath my own and prying the acrylic off. It was extremely uncomfortable, and a significant amount of my natural nail was torn off in the process. I was left with a deep indent where my natural nail had been damaged. Hard NO! Close to home so thought I’d give them a try. Pedicure only. Nail tech never made eye contact, tried to up sell and a less than stellar job. Messy clean up that I functioning notice till I left the salon. Nails are not symmetrically shaped. Down right awful. I won’t go back

Hands down, this is the best salon in San Diego because Nina is here! I'm so glad she's back in the neighborhood. My nails have needed her badly! She knows exactly how I like it. And my nails last so long with her work. And Minh works here, too. She also used to do my nails for years. As I write, my leg/foot is resting on a little fold out pedestal. Omgosh, it's ingenious! It's the coolest thing for spa pedis. Finally I can really relax and not worry about the position of my foot while they're working on it. Convenient for me and the tech for a much better experience. I love this place. They truly aim for making us comfy. And they even serve complimentary wine! I just tried the rosé and it's pretty yummy. ***UPDATE**** Nails surprisingly lasted but they ALL popped off within the last 2 days….. huh???? DO NOT USE THIS SALON IF YOU WANT QUALITY SERVICES!!!! My nail tech didn’t listen when I asked for square shape with rounded edges. She left them square and VERY SHARP. Even after I told her to ROUND THE EDGES she told me “I round them a little” which she didn’t do. I fixed them myself in the car before going home! Now, less than 2 days later, my toe polish is peeling off and chipping. Not happy with the salon and WILL NOT GOING BACK!

Had an appointment and although they were packed were able to accommodate me right away. My appointment was for pedi only but when asked if they had someone available for mani they were able to accommodate as well. Really happy with the work the ladies performed. Paid 113 for dip nails with one design on each hand and an upgraded pedi with gel nails.
