Seems like there’s only one manicurist who knows what she’s doing. Three times I went to get my nails done and three times the manicurists I was sitting with needed help from one particular manicurist. The first time I went the girl didn’t know how to file and shape the almond nails I wanted so she called over the manicurist to help. She also didn’t do the acrylic tips correctly and as they grew out, there was a gap between my nail and the tip on 8 of my nails. I2 weeks later I went back for a fill in and to correct the tip issue and again the other manicurist had to show her how to correctly do the tips. This nail salon is very well run, well organized, spacious, clean, bright. The service is top notch and everyone is professional and pleasant. Cindy and Mildred are very good. The prices are right. The hot stones massage pedicure is enjoyable. Yes the gel manicure lasts only 10 days but so is usually the same with other salons I have tried in Nanuet and Airmont. Unless you don’t do any house work and wear gloves all the time… they use opi and Essie for regular pedicure manicure and gel is probably from China. The best lasting gel is memory. So are they using for the gel nail polish the best quality so it would last longer (they have wide choice and amazing colors especially the sparkly ones) ? That’s the question. The customer service that I received in this salon was terrible. I got a manicure and didn’t want them to charge my card extra to tip (for every $5 you tip, they charge your card an extra $1) on my card so I told her I could come back with a cash tip. The owner then proceeded to point at the woman who did my nails and told me to “tell her.” I declined to follow the her instruction to which she refused to swipe my card so that I could leave. The conversation escalated to which I demanded that she charged my card so that I could leave. She finally charged my card and said, “I hate when people do this.” Then I was followed out into the parking lot by both of the women and stared at as I drove away. The worst when it comes to keeping appointments. Twice I've made appointments and twice I've had to wait over 30 minutes because they took others without a thought for scheduled people coming in. This is the responsibility of the front desk/owner not the individuals working there. I have only used Sue for the actual services and she does a great job. I would call ahead in the future, if I would come back.
