We have been going to Mel for 3–4 years now, and she has been the ONLY person who has ever cut my son’s hair. I am a firm believer in finding a great barber and sticking with them wherever they go, and Mel is absolutely worth following. From day one, Mel has been incredibly patient, kind, and understanding with my child. Even before he could sit in the chair by himself, she always made sure we were comfortable — whether that meant letting me sit with him or adjusting if he changed his mind mid-cut. She never rushed us, never made us feel inconvenient, and always prioritized my child’s comfort. Because she is so kid-oriented, it only took a cut or two before he was sitting independently. We have been looking for a barber for my son who has sensory issues... Big crowds, loud noises, and barbers that don't know how to service autistic children have kept us from the barbershop! My mom found Mel on Instagram and after watching her videos I had to book with her! When we walked in the atmosphere was welcoming. She is so friendly and what I liked most is she didn't just sit him in the chair she sat on the couch at his level and asked his name! Her voice is so soothing and inviting.. My son sat still for majority of his cut as well! But even when she knew he was over it she never expressed frustration.. she was calm and redirected him when needed! She did an amazing job and we will be back!! Thank you Mel! You lifted a huge weight off of our shoulders!
