I can’t recommend Jo and his staff enough, in fact I recommend them to everyone I know. Jo was incredibly patient and thoughtful in working with me when I started coloring my hair to find what felt right for me. He’s always professional, thoughtful and goes above and beyond to make sure I’m happy with his work and comfortable in the process. Alma offers magical scalp treatments that have strengthened and boosted my hair health. And I now bring my kids to Lauren. The entire staff is friendly and accommodating, from the top down this salon builds wonderful relationships and beautiful hair.

Today reminded me exactly why Josef Mikel Salon in Pleasantville is truly exceptional. I arrived at the salon this afternoon without an appointment after a terrible experience at another salon earlier this morning. My color was awful. I was so upset and needed it fixed asap for an event tonight. I walked in and asked for Joe, knowing that if anyone could help me, it would be him. Even though I hadn’t been a client for almost a year, Joe greeted me with his usual warmth and heartfelt hello. As I started explaining what had happened and why I couldn’t go back to the other salon, he took my coat, sat me down in his chair, and told me he knew exactly what to do to fix it. Mallory is magnificent. As a sort-of blonde, I've been doing highlights for over 40 years: upscale NYC salons, Greenwich even high end european salons. High lights, low lights, toners. No one, anywhere has her touch with color and cuts. Mallory is extraordinarily meticulous. She actually cares about the long term health and well being of hair and scalp. She knows how to deal with my roots that seem to grow in faster and darker every month. I honestly wish I could take her everywhere with me.
