Attending the 9-month intensive program at this massage school was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. From the very first day, I felt welcomed into a community that was both supportive and inspiring. The program was fast-paced in the best way—every week brought something new, exciting, and deeply engaging. The instructors were passionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about helping each of us grow, both as massage therapists and as people. They made complex techniques approachable, while also encouraging us to push ourselves and discover our own unique strengths. I loved how every class was hands-on and interactive, which kept the learning process fun and always interesting. What stood out the most was the balance of structure and creativity—there was a clear path of learning

I used to drive 20-60 minutes to get back to my former town and go to the massage place I’ve gone to for..aww sheesh…almost 20 years now. But I felt like that drive was really working against my relaxation. After asking a few of the employees, I found that most of my favorites were IPSB alumni, and I figured that wasn’t a coincidence so of course I had to look them up. They are also almost 20 miles away, but the difference is the drive time (and drive effort). I won’t go into too many details. Since it was my first time there I allotted myself extra $$ to enjoy the day, and treated myself to two sessions; first, a Deep Tissue Massage, a little something like spraying WD-40 on stuck parts. A couple of times the tension disappeared so almost instantly I was truly surprised. The Deep Tissu

IPSB is an excellent massage school for anyone who wants longevity, as well as classes that integrate both the body and the mind. They don’t just teach the same old massage techniques that lead to burnout. There’s actually rhyme and reason behind what they teach, and so far it’s been advancing me in my massage career. I’m licensed and have been working now for almost 2 years and still feel great. The body mechanics they teach are solid and effective. The teachers and directors here know their stuff, are very kind, and you actually feel included in classes. Overall, I highly recommend this school and am so glad I got to learn here. :)

Attending school at IPSB was one of the best things I've done for my career and personal development. When I started at IPSB, I had already completed most of my training at another school that unfortunately did not survive the pandemic. So I just needed a few classes to get me to 500 hours. As much as I had enjoyed my first school, I kind of wished I had completed my entire training at IPSB from the start. Each teacher is a master in what they do- it's clear that they're only teaching because they're passionate about the students, the school, and their work - not because they're not successful in their own careers. The students at IPSB were all really close, too. Even though I hadn't started the program with any of them, I was welcomed with open arms in each and every class. I also realize

As a student at IPSB I was taught to approach the human body holistically. I was taught to attend to my own energy, wellness, and body-mechanics, as well as the whole person/ client before me. I was taught to utilize technical, environmental as well as energetic modalities to address physical and emotional sources of tension. The population of the teachers at IPSB, while I was a student there, was a reflection of the beautiful diversity found in Los Angeles, which was really important to me. The academic aspects of the curriculum are rigorous while the interpersonal aspects of the IPSB approach are warm and humanizing. I graduated from IPSB in 2009, and have been working as a massage therapist with a private practice ever since. IPSB taught me to attune to my clients in a way that many ma
