Customer Reviews
My experience with Humanmade has been extremely disappointing. I toured the facility while looking for a manufacturing space to support a new business. During the tour, I was told they had two CNC mills (one in poor condition), a rotary head for 4‑axis work, and two CNC routers, including one with an automatic tool changer. I was also told that members could reserve equipment for up to four hours and that, as a former TechShop member, I would not need to retake certain safety courses. Based on that information, I signed up for a membership. After joining, I was informed that I was not allowed to use the newer CNC machine, the rotary head, or the router with the automatic tool changer, and that I would need to retake—and pay for—the safety classes despite what I had been told during the t
Every member, faculty and staff here is nice, except for one terrible staff, Jay. I used the printer once, and he thought I was wasting ink (Although this rule is not written in the lease, agreement, contract, or posted notice) so kicked me out. my course certificate (which I spent $100 just to qualify for 3D printing) here became worthless. After I was kicked out, they refused to refund my membership fee and locker fee, but continued to charge me monthly rent and locker fees until I updated my credit card. And they refused to accept all of my emails, even though they were very important to me.
I’ve observed countless incubators and accelerators across three decades of startup building. I almost never endorse accelerators—they inundate founders with noise and distraction. Humanmade, however, is a rare exception. Unreservedly recommended. Ten stars. Thank you for the May 15, 2025 event!
This place is great for beginner, or veteran, battle-hardened in the fog of war. The classes are thorough and cover a wide range of different skills you can learn. The equipment is well maintained, fairly new (as far as what I've used so far) and will cover basically anything you need to make. The staff are incredibly friendly / helpful as well and can answer questions you have and can provide suggestions on techniques or equipment to use for a specific task you're trying to accomplish. All-in-all, a very good shop. I've been a member at other shops which had good equipment, but the staff and culture were lacking. This shop has both!
Enjoyed a wonderful fashion event for SF Climate week that was hosted here. It's a great space for makers of all kinds and for private events!
