Gypsy Kitchen DC is a culinary gem that will leave you craving for more! This restaurant is a vibrant celebration of global flavors, with a menu that's as eclectic as it is delicious. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, simple for a cozy dinner. The decor is a beautiful blend of colors and textures, with touches of red that really make the space pop. The food is absolutely phenomenal. From the bold spices to the lovingly prepared dishes, every bite is a journey for your taste buds. Check the dishes we ordered. Service-wise, Annie, our waitress was super friendly and attentive, making sure that all dishes are served promptly, making our dining experience nothing short of wonderful. Remember, it is a privy resturant may easily run into >$60 pp without drinks.
They get this five star review for being great at hosting and accommodating our party of three without a reservation as we just showed up to the place. The food tasted great and we loved everything (portions were a bit small) but overall quality and taste was great as well as the service and the lady at the front door was very nice. Would definitely recommend.
Gypsy Kitchen is one of those Washington DC spots that instantly feels like a getaway, even though you are still on 14th Street. The room is moody, vibrant, and designed for connection, with bohemian details like woven rugs, tapestries, Moorish tile, and intimate seating pockets that make every table feel like the best table in the house. Then there is the rooftop. It is the kind of patio that turns a normal dinner into a full night, with open city views and lounge style comfort that makes you want to stay for one more round and one more plate. The menu lands right in that sweet spot of adventurous and approachable, with Pan Mediterranean energy and shareable dishes that keep the table engaged. It is perfect for date night, birthday dinners, or hosting out of town guests when you want a
Food was great, they have two floors and two bars, upstairs is also covered and very nice to host a birthday dinner. Our server was great, be prepared to wait as food really took time to get to the table😅 The hummus with lamb was VERY good! My group loved the shrimp fritter, and the lamb kebab was good
For summer brunch, we recommend the lamb hummus (comes with seasoned pita), the tomato salad, the french toast and the shakshouka. Our server was very helpful for recommendations and the ambiance of the restaurant is warm and comfortable. We recommend it!
