I just left my second appointment at Gloss Lab at Union Market. A few weeks back I purchased their BOGO gel mani/regular pedi promo. I was looking forward to this being my new nail place as it’s conveniently located and they pride themselves on getting customers in and out in a timely manner. Unfortunately, this was my last time patronizing this business. This experience is only worth while if you’re purchasing a package/promotion. A la carté, I feel that the prices are exorbitant for what you actually get ($140+ for mani/pedis in an industrial, unfinished space). I arrived about 5 minutes early for my 2pm appointment. Upon arrival, the manager Shanté didn’t utter a word. However, I was greeted by my lovely nail technician, Genesis. I picked my colors and stood near the entrance awkward

Never coming back to be honest. I went despite hearing from multiple people how bad it was. Shoulda listened. I got a manicure. As I was getting the final top coat, I noticed my nails started to bubble. I have bubbles in all of my nails. When I tell the manager at the cashier, she says: well you should have told us when it happened. I told her: It was the top coat, so I just noticed and came to you. She agreed all of my nails had bubbles, and that the polish was indeed old. But insisted the girl did a good job despide having bubbles on all the nails. She then begins to offer me the membership and tries to convince me to buy it, so I can come back again and get them redone. (Membership was 2 manis a month). I was like, that makes no sense, I would still be paying for them to fix

Service: Gel Manicure with Step Up Design Total with tip: $81 This was my first time here—a last minute treat to myself and I booked my appointment the night before. The store was clean and the ambiance was great. The people who greeted me were helpful and friendly, I immediately felt welcome as soon as I walked in. I also arrived about 5 mins before my appointment time and they were able to see me immediately. Jessica was amazing, she took her time and paid careful attention to each nail. I’m usually not very chatty during mani/pedis and I felt no pressure to try to carry a conversation, but she was still very friendly. She was so great, I tipped above the automatic 20% gratuity. The unique thing about this shop is that they have a streamlined “menu” of services, with a lot less color

Before I went there I reviewed their rate. I was so worried about their service. But since I bought the BOGO I just made appointment and select the union market store which is the top rated one. I didn’t expect I love how my nails look now. And the lady who served me she was so gentle and easy to communicate with. She was the only one worked in store on the Thanksgiving weekend. She was so tired but was so focused on helping me get the little design I wanted. Thank you:) Will be back soon!!

I’ve had several great gel manis from Aaliyah. She’s very gentle and meticulous and my cuticles and polish have never looked better
