You would expect it to be cheap for how old and rundown it is. They refuse to replace bulbs after multiple complaints from customers. The stand-up booth currently has 12 bad bulbs! The staff are fine - mostly high school / college girls. I will probably go somewhere else once my package is used up.

This place is not only old with dated beds, it’s dirty with staff that 110% looks like they don’t want to be there either. I pay month to month for a level 1 bed. It’s not even worth the money at this point. The amount of times I’ve told the staff about bulbs being out and literally out of the prongs in the stand up and nothing has been done is so frustrating. The level 1 has literally 4 bulbs out and the girl had the audacity to tell me the owner maybe changes them annually. No wonder I’m so pale. Not worth the money or germs, go somewhere else that actually has beds that don’t smell like they’re burning.

NEW CUSTOMERS. FIND ANOTHER TANNING SALON. Unfortunately, I went there to try them out as a new customer. I was looking for a high pressure bed which is level 5 stand up, but they only had a 3 level stand up. So on my way out I thought I would upgrade into a package and utilize it when I'm in the area. The receptionist was charging me separate at full price and not including the single I just paid for as my session 1, WHAT??? They could have immediately increased my spending by a $115. And all of my years of tanning, this is the 1st salon that took that approach. Several times in the past they always try to get you to upgrade to a package walking out the 1st time As an incentive for the new customer and then of course to their benefit. I've been going to this salon for years. Courteous, very kind & well informed staff. With my busy work schedule I wouldn't normally have the time to tan but because they're open 7 days a week, holidays and until 6:00pm on the weekend is a big plus for me. I highly recommend Electric Beach Tanning Studio in Berkeley Heights.

I love electric beach in berkeley heights. I used to tan regularly, but peer pressure made me stop. now I tan for "events" where i want to brighten up my look. the facility is kept immaculately clean ~ the beds are always in tip top shape and the staff is really really pleasant and well informed. It's a great place to tan...if it's your thing...I highly recommend Electric Beach in BH!
