Drybar - Union Square

Unfortunately just cancelled my membership here. I’ve had a good experience at drybars in other cities, but this location needs a lot of work. Every time I come in, they’re running 15-30 minutes behind and don’t give any heads up. Your blowout could take anywhere from 30 mins-1.5 hours: there’s no consistency. Some of the stylists are also just rude— they clearly prefer shorter, finer hair and will do your blowout as quickly as possible (and not give you the style you asked for).

Seeing other reviewers have the same experience as me is validating - this location needs some serious work on their scheduling. I arrived for my appointment only to be told to wait 30 minutes for my stylist to take a mandatory break, and even after waiting, I wasn’t given my requested stylist. Multiple times I’ve had stylists say to me “I wasn’t even supposed to work today.” They gave me a free add on for the inconvenience, but something definitely needs to change.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Aerica! From the moment I walked in, she was incredibly welcoming and professional. She truly goes above and beyond to accommodate her clients and make you feel taken care of. Not only does she work so efficiently (I couldn’t believe how fast she was!), but the quality of her work is absolutely top notch. My hairstyle looks flawless and lasts — which is everything when you have a busy schedule. You can tell she takes real pride in her craft. Aerica honestly deserves “Hairstylist of the Month” every month. If you’re looking for someone talented, reliable, and genuinely caring, she’s the one!

So disappointed in this. This was my first experience with dry bar and will be my last. I was greeted very late and by a receptionist with a towel on her head as if she was Princess Leila. Only to wait 20 minutes to get started while the stylists mingled and were on their phones. The stylist did not greet me with their name nor speak to me the entire visit. It was like she was annoyed that I was there? And had to do her job? Only to notice that she (Stephanie) was employee of the month? Flash forward- my hair looked NOTHING like the inspo. She rushed and I looked like a mushroom. I was clearly unsure and she said ‘well you can sit here and play with it how you want’. I recently coordinated a full buy-out of this Drybar location for a private event and it was wonderful! The manager, receptionist, and every single stylist was happy, accommodating, and they did a terrific job in setting up the space for us. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to do a fun girls event.
