Drybar - Santa Monica

I’ve been to Drybar Santa Monica numerous times, the branch declined in the past year, and my recent experience was extremely disappointing and concerning. Upon arrival, my appointment started about 20 minutes late. When I was finally seated, the environment felt disorganized and unclean — several hair dryers had visible buildup and hair on the cords, which did not inspire confidence in their hygiene standards. During the wash, I explained that I was already running late and requested something simple to help me leave on time. Instead of accommodating that, the stylist became visibly irritated, pulled my hair harshly, and ultimately stopped midway through the shampoo, leaving me with wet hair and calling me names. Just no. This place has fallen so far down the toilet. The stylists here are inexperienced. The last stylist was so aggressive with my hair, yanking on it and applying way too much heat for far too long. I should have left with smooth locks but my hair was crunchy and frankly felt dirty. I could have done a better job myself. I don’t know why I keep coming back here, I keep thinking it’ll get better and it never does. Even if I had a somewhat decent experience, nobody picks up the phone at the salon so you can’t call and request a particular stylist. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. If you get a good stylist hold on to them for dear life. They’re few and far between. I’m finally saying goodbye to this place and going elsewhere.

GITA is great! I've been reading all the negative reviews and I had none of those issues. My stylist, Gita, was on time, very friendly, and went above and beyond to create a smooth and flowing style from my curly hair. The place could be sparked up a bit, but I will go back to GITA any time I'm in town (which isn't often enough). Thank you, Gita.

I never leave reviews but this place is awful. I had an appointment booked to do my hair for an event they cancelled it the same day due to “shortage of staff”. They are constantly running at least 20 minutes behind and the staff is completely incompetent. Most of the staff also has no idea how to do hair , are rude and extremely unprofessional. This will be the last time I ever book an appointment. If you are counting on actually getting your hair blown out I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.

The manager here (Denise) told me they will work on getting me a refund for three months and has not responded since then, my credits may expire and I keep emailing them but no response. Very disorganized.
