Went today for an Uptini and left in tears. I asked for one of the styles pictured in the book and got something entirely different. When I said it was different, the stylist got angry and told me I asked for messy and she gave me messy. My hair looked NOTHING like the picture. I asked her to fix it. It still looked nothing like the picture. I had another appt and had to go, but she was angry I didn’t like it and slammed the mirror and brush down on the counter. I had asked for a treatment with my wash and she said she didn’t want my hair to be too dry so she didn’t want to wash it. My service was supposed to be an hours and fifteen min. She was running 15 minutes late- my appt was at 12 and she started at 12:15. Fifteen minutes later the person at the front desk put another customer card
My appointment was cancelled just 30 minutes beforehand on the day of my booking. When I attempted to rebook at a nearby location, I was unable to do so due to a note from a stylist stating that my blowout supposedly takes 90 minutes, when it has only ever previously taken between 45-60 minutes (I have medium length hair, no extentions or anything). I’ve been a loyal Drybar client for five years and have held Barfly memberships in Dallas, Charlottesville, and now DC. Had I not had credits remaining, I would have cancelled my membership immediately. I was also not offered any accommodation or compensation for the last-minute cancellation. Fortunately, this was for a friend’s birthday and I can manage doing my hair myself. However, if you’re booking for a wedding or special event, I would
After a recent experience here at what had previously been my go-to salon for blowouts in the area, I unfortunately do need to provide a rating that I feel is appropriate for the level of professionalism, or lack thereof I should say, that I received from this Dry Bar location. I am the type of person that will give accolades where they are due and typically would not share negative thoughts on an establishment, however in this situation I share to simply warn the next potential client so that they are not placed in the same stressful circumstances that I was put in. I recently went in person to schedule an appointment for 7 AM the next day, right before I had a very important meeting at 9 AM that same day. Upon scheduling it, I was assured that a specific stylist would see me at 7 AM shar
I got a blow out from CJ in Georgetown for the first time today. He was super friendly, fast, and left me with silky smooth hair. Most stylists get rough as they speed up but CJ was really careful as he brushed out my curls. Kept checking in to make sure I was comfortable along the way too. I look forward to seeing him here again!
Beware of purchasing a Barfly membership with Drybar. Drybar violated the Barfly Membership Terms and falsely advertised their Membership Program because it failed to notify me that: (1) members will be charged $30 in addition to their monthly membership fee if their stylist takes longer than 45 minutes to complete their blowout; and (2) members who Drybar has determined require more than 45 minutes for a blowout are required to book a new “extended blowout” service that includes the $30 additional charge or they risk having to reschedule their appointment upon arrival at the shop. Drybar’s Membership Terms entitle you to one or two blowouts that “rollover” each month if not used. This is consistent with information about the membership on Drybar’s website. The Terms also state that Dryba
