If you’re a dude in need of a haircut allow me to introduce you to a relatively new find of mine: Bowery Barber in One Paseo Shopping in Del Mar. more importantly, plan on sitting in the chair of former barber and now Owner & Barber Nick Maniscalco. Nick’s from New York but has called Cali home for a long time. He welcomes you with a big smile, warm handshake and a choice of beverage, then gets to work on making your bad hair into a good-looking work of art. Prices are reasonable, sports plays on overhead screens & service is friendly; what more could you ask for!

DO NOT step foot in this place! Literally the WORST haircut of my entire life! I’ve been trying to grow my hair longer for the past few months. I took a chance and came here for a light trim and placed my trust in their barber. After explaining what was needed, the barber confidently acknowledged then proceeded to turn the chair away from the mirror and butcher my hair. 3 months of hair growth gone in an instant. Not only that, I’ll be walking around for at least the next month looking like an idiot with this huge ledge on the back of my head because they don’t know how to blend hair. I came home and my wife was furious. Again, avoid this place at all costs!

If you’re looking for a barber who actually listens and takes pride in his craft, go see Justin. He doesn't rush the process. he pays incredible attention to detail and makes sure every line is crisp before you leave the chair. It’s hard to find someone this consistent. Highly recommended

I had Justin cut my hair, and want to preface that he was very kind and respectful. That being said, I think he has a fundamental misunderstanding of how to cut hair. I have never seen anything like this, and there were issues that could not be chalked up to a misunderstanding. Randomly shaving my widows peak was just one thing (which will take forever to grow back while I look like an idiot), along with an overall lopsided haircut. I actually measured and one of my sideburns is double the width of the other. I normally go to supercuts and was hoping to get a better quality cut for a higher price, but unfortunately it backfired on me.

As someone who moves almost once a year, and gets a haircut quite frequently, finding an establishment such as The Bowery here in San Diego was nothing short of one of the best parts about living within this area. The entire staff, including Nick, Alex, Luis, Miguel, and all of the gentlemen that work within this shop bring a positive energy to work that is contagious to all of those who walk through their doors. It is welcoming, kind, open, and makes you feel a level of comfort no matter who may be cutting your hair that day. These guys are extremely professional, and bring a work ethic that is unmatched from any other shop I've visited.
