Black Beauty is an amazing pillar in the Caribbean, black and female communities. The owner, Debbie, makes you feel like a part of the family and won't back down from telling you what is best for your hair. She is to the point and will not waste your time nor hers. She has been treating 3 generations of my family's hair. It is great to go somewhere that understands what you want for your hair and has the skills to achieve it while keeping your hair healthy. Stick with it, and you will see great results. It's also a plus that the store also hosts a multitude of other features: Avon shop, barbers, braiders, eyebrow shaping, and natural goods. But most of all, the comfortable environment, feeling of home, and people has made this shop a go to for many and is recognized by its community.

Ms. Debbie is great! She is very hospitable and will give you her honest, professional opinion. I absolutely love my pixie cut, i got a relaxer, cut, and style. I will be seeing her for my touch up soon :)

I was in a serious bind with my hair this morning. It’s a major heatwave today, and my portable hair dryer kept tripping the circuit breaker in my apartment. To make things more stressful today is my graduation, and my hair wasn’t fully dry. Cue the panic, because without drying, my curls wouldn’t set properly 😩. I have thick locs that take forever to dry, so I decided to stop by Black Beauty Unisex Salon, hoping they’d let me sit under a dryer and I was fully prepared to pay for the time. But to my surprise and absolute relief, Debbie (the owner) welcomed me and let me use the dryer free of charge. I honestly didn’t expect anyone to accommodate something like this, especially without an appointment. But Debbie came through for me. She was so generous and kind, and I’m beyond grateful.
