African Hair Braiding By MARIAM

My braids are amazing!!! Everytime she does them the last five to six months! They are clean and uniform. The atmosphere of her shop is relaxing and calm. She also sells shea butter, perfume bars, head scarfs, and clothing. She is so fast at braids and sometimes has a helper to get them done even faster. I will be coming here as long as she's open! The best hair braiding in Jacksonville! She also does locs.

My experience was absolutely not the best. Ms. Mariam was not present and I will say she attempted to accommodate me. I asked for boho box braids. I noticed halfway through that they were only adding curls to the ends which was definitely not worth the extra money. I messaged Ms. Mariam and she called and told them to crochet the extra hair in.... Also to add I went in to get braids over my already established locs. They were quick (maybe 3 hours) however they used nail glue to secure the hair they left out which I did not notice until after the fact. I did make Ms. Mariam aware and she told me to come back in for them to get it out. I absolutely did not because in no way is it ever okay to put nail glue in someone's hair.. and I did not want the ppl who damaged my hair to damage it fur

I had Senegalese Twists done a month ago. She was kind and professional, though a little ill. I have long, natural hair. She took her time and my hair is beautiful. She is gentle with natural hair, which is rare. My hair was not too tight. She didn't have four different people doing it either, which is uncomfortable. Everyone is asking where I had it done. I plan to use her again.

I walked in the shop and asked for faux locs that I might lock up my natural hair. My hair is cut low on the sides and in the back.. I was charged 2 bills for the crown. I was told it would last for 3 months. I asked her to wash my hair she said she didn't have hot water but washed it anyway..as she began I told her the hair she was using was very hard and my head began itching and my locs were stiff enough to stand straight up she assured me they would get limber. Once completed I asked her to dip them to help with management.. I paid her and expressed that it looked good but I didn't like the hardness of the hair and the itching. She told me to use oils on it. I returned 2 days later and asked her to help with the itching and there was some unravelling. She burnt the ends after asking

This was my second time going to Mariam and once again pleased with my braids. Very clean shop and she is very patient and makes sure you are happy before leaving her shop.
