Abner's Barbershop

If you want a great haircut at an affordable price go to Abner's. My son and I have been going here for years and we love the service and the conversations.

When I moved to SF 12 years ago, my wife (then girlfriend) was convinced that to get a good hair cut, you needed to go to a "salon". So to try to prove her wrong, I would alternate between more affordable barber shops and $100+ salons. Finally, I found Abner and she said it had to be a $100 hair cut, so I was hooked. Besides a premium cut for a reasonable price, Abner is a great guy and a fixture in the community. It's fun sitting in his chair and seeing families who have grown up getting their hair cut by him or his mom, with this location having opened in 1986.

Visitor to SF. My son in law goes to Abner’s all the time so he recommended it. Abner himself was the barber and he asked my name right away. While he gave me a superb, precise cut, shaved my neck, and trimmed around my ears, he kept up an interesting dialogue. I mean dialogue, not monologue. Respectful, friendly but professional. Intelligent. Did I say great cut? Price was right.

Abner is my guy for fades, comes out perfect every time. Attentive, great eye, and his quality is evident in the details. Great guy who's been cutting hair in the neighborhood for decades- who else would you want to go to? $35 for a regular cut, less for a shape up
