We loved our experience! She took her time to ask what I was hoping out of the experience and if my son would be comfortable with clippers only. She spent the first 10 mins just making sure my son was comfortable, talked to him about what she was doing, put on a show he picked, gave him a lollipop and was very calm. I would highly highly recommend bringing your child here for his/hers first haircut or any of them afterwards. The whole process probably took about 15 mins and my son didn’t want to leave at the end.

Zinah at Zinah’s Beauty Salon is a hair-cutting magician—especially when it comes to children with special needs. Finding someone patient, gentle, and understanding can be hard, but Zinah is truly a gift. She has such a natural way of making autistic kids feel comfortable, seen, and safe. Her salon is a sensory-friendly wonderland. She keeps toys available, plays their favorite shows on TV, and even has the coolest seats—a spinning firetruck and a police car! Kids walk in nervous and walk out smiling like they just had the best time. The way Zinah connects with children is something special. My 4yr old got a haircut here yesterday. He was a little nervous at first since it was his first time here. Zinah was very attentive, made sure he was comfortable and talked to him the whole time to make sure he was fine! His hair turned out great also! I will definitely be bringing him here again!

Zinah is an amazing human. She is kind, thoughtful, and patient. She has such a skill of working with kiddos, especially those who have trouble sitting still. The shop is super cute. Her salon is also a Foster Friendly Business. She loves serving foster families in the area!

Zinah is the best! She has been cutting all three of our children’s hair for years. She has helped all three overcome initial barbershop nerves and now the kids look forward to every visit. 10/10 recommend!
