I love supporting the small businesses, especially black women. I am a loyal customer when I find the right business. I am so done with YOYO braiding. My back story...I am attending a wedding in the tri-state area next weekend, so I decided to get my hair braided in a nice cute ponytail. Simple right?...Noooo, after I told Yoyo what I wanted, she proceeded to tell me that it's not good for my hair and it won't last. Mind you, $200 later I look a hot mess. She crocheted my hair and the vent cap that she used is now pulling back and it now looks like I have a "6 head" instead of a forehead. Right now, I have called her to have her fix it. I’ve been going to Yoyo since I was a little girl. First off the restroom is SICK. 🤮 Second I just came back after a year and she tried to charge me $200 for crochet. 😂🤣🤣🤣🤣 Scammer at its finest. Keep in mind I bought the hair. She used very little hair for the braids in the front. DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR DONE THERE. You’ll be leaving feeling worse than you came in 🥴. I paid $180 for crochet.

The only reason I would have gave it two stars was because the lady did take initiative to take it out and fix it. Even then, don’t count it. I came to this place to get a braided style. Very mediocre. The lady couldn’t do stitch braid… she did not voice that at all. First red flag. Second red flag she did not do the style I asked. When I got out the chair, it was so bad, I nearly cried and told the lady I do not like it and had her take it out and do a new style in the front for the second time. (Keep in mind she was already on the phone with someone because she had somewhere to be and she was running late) So I also feel as if she was rushing. Charged crazy high price only for front half cornrows/fulani braids with some boho curl pieces. I already had the knotless braids in the back done. I could’ve gotten cornrows and knotless braids in the back for the same price somewhere else. Only thing I did like was she had quick availability and she was nice to my son. But sheesh, her prices are unreasonable and seems like she only decides what to charge when she’s finished. Very scammy

I had the absolute best experience at Yoyo’s braiding. I went by the location to schedule my appointment and verify the price and I was quoted the same amount I payed and Lucy gave me her good braiding. I will be back after I have had this style for about 2 months lol.
