Vicki’s Nails

Me and my mother walked in to this establishment, we were met with side eyes and eye rolls. Should have walked out then. But the owner or whoever, runs the payment or check out actually had the audacity to say very loudly. “Next time tip in cash” as I’m a current student in Geneseo. We were a walk in. I waitress I understand tipping culture, my family does as well. As my mother tipped 12$ for a gel manicure and almost was made to feel like she had to empty the little cash she was carrying out of her pockets on top of that, is disgusting. We did not tip in cash because we did not think it was an adequate amount, due to being a walk in. My mother wanted to treat me to a gel manicure, because I was going to my job the following day. I live almost 2 hours away, but I wait until I'm in Canandaigua to get my nails done. I've been to Vicky Nails many times and my nails are always perfect - fingers & piggies! Kara did a free-hand wavy checkered race flag design for a banquet that turned out amazing! She admitted she'd never done one before, but after I showed her inspiration photos, she nailed it!! I'm blessed with strong natural nails, so I can't comment on acrylics. I also tasked Kara with working on two horrible ingrown toenails for me. I wasn't sure how much she'd be able to do because they were pretty bad. She paid meticulous attention to be careful to be sure every step was sanitized multiple times. I’ve been going here for 10 years,, I wouldn’t go anywhere else! I see some people posting pics of nails that they said we done at Vickie’s, no way! Some of the pics are so fake,, they would never let you walk out of their salon with nails that some post,, people may have had bad experiences,, but I never have! They are friendly,professional and a relaxing place to go;)

When I got there I show them a picture of what I wanted they said they couldn't do it because their artist wasn't in and she left at three. I changed what I wanted to a different kind of design I had to only get color I couldn't get a design itself. The man that did my nails didn't ask me how I wanted my nails done as far as tip style, he did my acrylics and it's not all the way up to where it's supposed to be on your nail there's a huge gap between my cuticle and the acrylic. I got my nails done last night at around 4:35 and this morning at 7:00 the nail polish itself was chipping on three of my nails the man that started my nails and did the acrylic work wasn't the person that painted my nails. I love coming here so much! I recommend gel manicures they always turn out so pretty and they last so long! PS: all of the staff are incredibly sweet! Kara is awesome!
