So glad I found Zach / Viange salon! I usually get my hair cut/permed in Tokyo whenever I visited. I've been on the hunt for a Japanese hair salon in the Bay area that's reasonably priced and can deliver Tokyo-level hair service. I stumbled upon Zach at Viange and I'm SO GLAD that I found him. Zach is very meticulous with his work -- carefully listened to my request, confirmed with me the proposed changes, and communicated every step throughout the process. I am extremely happy with the result -- just the kind of clean, "genki", yet fashionable style that I was looking for. Also worth-noting are the courteousness of his service, the nice Japanese tea/sweets and the overall ambience of the salon. For the price, the quality of overall service is very worthwhile. I'll definitely be a repeat

I've dyed it twice in Asia and I haven't found a decent colorist in the Bay until I met Jay today. I scheduled a free 30min consultation apt like a month prior and they had availabilities with the master stylist Jay. And I was able to scheduled a toning appointment on the same day which was a huge plus bc I drove from Oakland East Bay to San Jose like 1hr away. Worth the drive honestly. I want to give a shout-out to Zach. I have pretty long hair (a bit above my waist) which hasn't been cut in 2 years and the last 3-4 inches were quite frizzy and dry. I booked an appointment with Zach based on others' comment, however didn't really have too much of hope as I'm always skeptical with the first tryout with any new hairstylists I work with! The result was surprisingly good and I'm so happy with my new hairstyle. I didn't have time to do research of hairstyle ideas so I just told Zach that I want (1) still keep it long (2) cut off maybe 3-4 inches of the bad hair end, and (3) rest he can recommend on the styling. I just got my hair dyed for the first time ever with Jay yesterday and he did such an amazing job! I was really nervous but he was super patient, walked me through the process and showed me a few things we could do. It was a long process, 5 hours because my hair apparently likes to hold onto it's natural color. 😂 Had to bleach twice and then put this beautiful shade of silver with a hint of purple. His attention to detail is fantastic and I'm in love with my hair!! I've also been getting my hair digitally permed at Viange salons for several years and it's always been an amazing experience (Kaori and Kylie do an amazing job).
