Uptown Curl

When I was 7 years old I gave myself a haircut. It was bad. This was worse. I made it very very clear that I did not want length taken off my hair and that I just wanted to incorporate some face-framing shape into the layers of my longer than shoulder length hair. The stylist just started snipping and the snipping didn't seem to make any sense. I started to feel uneasy so I let her know that my curly hair has major shrinkage but she just kept snipping. Then when she was washing my hair she pointed the shower head down my back. My back was drenched and so were 2 layers of clothing. I asked for a dry towel to put down my back and she did it again and got the towel wet. And so I sat with a very wet towel and 2 layers of wet clothing on my back as she styled my hair. I had my first haircut in over a year. I was nervous because my last haircut was a terrible experience. Amanda was not only but talk explained everything she was doing to my hair. She brought my hair back to life and gives an amazing scalp treatment! Amanda has very welcoming, comforting vibe! I recommend going to her!

Uptown Curl: Hands down the BEST place for hair. I cannot say enough good things about UpTown Curl!!!!! I found this salon a few years ago--after waiting my entire life to find a place that could make my curly hair look beautiful. I have so many positive things to say about it (and the owner and all the staff we have experienced and observed--havent had a stylist we didnt like), but right now I want to specifically talk about stylist Amanda Higgins (St. Paul location.) My first experience with Amanda was when I brought my teen daughters (and one of their friends) for haircuts/styles--they have straight and wavy hair, I have curly hair. I had Amanda Higgins and she was AMAZING, she worked literally magic on my hair she was very helpful and understanding when I came in my hair was discolored and damaged from my hard water so she took the extra couple of hours to revive my hair. I had the best experience in her chair and will definitely be traveling the 4 hours back.

Kailyn was amazing! She was beyond patient and great with my daughter who was really nervous. She explained everything she was doing and was so helpful. Highly recommend!
