I came to this Ulta to redeem my birthday gift and purchase a hair product. While deciding between two items in the hair section, I was approached by an associate and politely declined help. After that, the same associate remained in the aisle watching me in an otherwise mostly empty store and stayed there until I went to the register, then disappeared. It was very clear I was being monitored rather than assisted. At checkout, my Ulta points were also not applied correctly due to cashier error. While frustrating, the most upsetting part of this visit was feeling racially profiled while shopping. After reading other Google reviews, it’s clear this has happened to multiple customers at this location. That is unacceptable. I plan to return my purchase and stop shopping at Ulta. Do better… ra

I went in because I wanted more info on the tinsel application for my daughter. I walked up to a woman at the salon and she was finishing up with a customer saw me waiting and still slowly moved away. So I told her I didn’t want any service I just wanted to get more info on the tinsel and how it would be applied and she just said they just tie it on in 15 minutes look online. So I asked about the beads I heard about and she dodged the question and kept moving away. It was a really weird and disrespectful interaction. Totally unprofessional. It was an older brunette woman with longish hair on Monday in the afternoon maybe around 2/3ish. She needs better training. And if she was a manager, idk wow

I rarely go into beauty stores because I constantly feel judged and overlooked by the workers (ex. Sephora/Ulta). But I have to say that the interaction I had today made me feel otherwise. I came in looking for some skin care and a wonderful young lady was very patient and knowledgeable about the products. So to anyone looking to buy and you’re not sure, ask for Lauren! She’s great and will know exactly what you need.

I recently had an appointment at the Salon and was not happy with my results. In the past I have used the salon but with a different stylist who sadly is not longer employed by Ulta. I was hesitant to make this appointment as it even took me longer to book my first appointment with my original stylist. All i wanted was a touch up of my blonde accent highlights. I have medium cool brown hair so I always get a cool tone ashy blonde accent highlights. I also get bangs, wispy almost like Sabrina carpenter bangs. Very 90s. I know my hair is easy to lift as I have had my hair highlighted before and touched up before by my previous stylist. The Ulta Beauty in Garden City is amazing, and I will definitely return for my color matching. I’ve gone to the Ulta Beauty in Valley Stream and was matched with a color that was not for me. I was getting frustrated since it’s been multiple times that I’ve been trying to get the correct color. I went to the one in Garden City, where Mia helped me; she was extremely patient with me. Being a woman of color and having your color change throughout the season can be frustrating, so I appreciate Mia’s patience and honest feedback.
