Ulta Beauty

I was in this Ulta today and I ran in for one thing and then the associate who helped me was so knowledgeable that I asked about a couple other items I’ve been thinking about getting. I told her some things that I wanted and what I wanted to use them for. She asked more questions and helped me find products that better suited my needs. She spent time with me to help me find the exact lipstick color that I had in my head. Also, she was so well informed on every brand. Sometimes it gets frustrating when you go to a store like this and people only want to sell you one or two brands. I’ve lived in several different cities around the country try country, but I’m really happy to have this particular Ulta to shop at!! Very helpful people. Couldn't find a lip product, and an associate was helping someone else, and still helped me too. Very kind cashiers, maybe under staffed I don't know though because I only saw 2 people at first and then a 3rd person came out from who knows where! But over all great place very clean too.!

I’ve spent many years trying to replace my favorite lip color and nothing ever matched what I had in mind. I also usually dread makeup stores — they give me major anxiety, and I always feel overwhelmed and out of place. But I was helped by Lisa, and she completely changed my experience. She was warm, inviting, and genuinely listened. It was like she picked the perfect product out of thin air — like she somehow knew my brain better than I did. The moment I tried what she chose, I knew it was exactly what I’d been searching for all these years. She made me feel comfortable in a place that normally stresses me out. Her kindness and intuition turned an overwhelming visit into something wonderful. I would absolutely come back just to work with her again.

Everything was fine and dandy the one time I decided to step into the Ulta to shop. That is, until I went to the cash register and had a bizarre interaction where the employee kept asking/insisting I provide a phone number. I said no, I prefer not to provide this information I just want to buy my products. After this back and forth went for an awkward length of time she finally said, “we can let you buy the products but you won’t be allowed to return them without an account.” Yikes, Ulta, if this your bizarre policy you should at least advertise it at the door so I don’t have to waste my time shopping. Went in with my daughter to look for a specific beauty item. We couldn't immediately find it so we were hoping to get some help from an associate. Seemed like the store was understaffed and we finally asked the person at the cash register, who was unpacking boxes (no customers at that time). Instead of walking with us to show us the item, she just told us the different brands that sold this item instead of taking the time to actually show us. We had no idea where to look. I understand that if it would have been busy, but she didn't even bother to put her box unpacking on hold for a second to help out a customer and show us where we could actually find it. Not up to their normal standards and past experiences in other locations. I doubt that I will return to this location.
