Touched by Fatima

Fatima came recommended to me beginning of the year 2023. The words used were : she is reliable, neat and fair with her pricing. I cannot agree more and to add to that she is very friendly, makes sure you feel comfortable and has been able to braid all the hairstyles I have requested so far. I moved from NYC where you have the best hair braiders ( imo). I do not know anyone else in Valdosta who braids like her and makes me feel like I got my hair done in NYC. You also get to relax in a clean and calm environment, pick a movie or two to watch depending on what style you do and get to use a clean restroom! I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a peaceful and calm braiding experience! I consider Fatima a friend now and always look forward to seeing her!

My first appointment with this salon, which was several weeks ago, wasn’t the best experience. My appointment was at 8:30am, I called at 8:45am and woke up the owner who was apparently asleep. I was told her Aunt was coming to get me started, I pushed through to support this African American business. The finished product wasn’t like the picture that was requested I show for the style I wanted, I didn’t monitor the size of the braids as my hair was being done, so I took the L on that one. My second appointment was today, Saturday (7/11/2020), originally scheduled for 8:30am the owner text me approximately 8:05am and asked if I would please come at 9:30am instead, I agreed, to continue to show support to this Africa American business. Fatima has been doing my hair for several years and though there have been times where she stops and talks,(Which can be a little irritating), I have only experienced one time when I had to be there past the 4-5 hours it takes her to do my micro braids. She does a superior job and is worth an occasional wait.

They do good hair. But they don't know how to talk and do hair at the same time. The lady that was doing my hair kept stopping to do somebody's else hair. Then I asked her constantly to leave my baby hair out and she still didnt leave em out. Not my damn edges hurt 😒 they do good but so unprofessional. Oh my hair appointment was at 3 and she started on it at 5. Not coming back.

I had to wait several hours before they got started on my head. Fatima told me that two people would complete my micro braids. Her and another lady so she began to braid my hair, only completing one side. When the other other decided to come in she made the micros different sizes from what Fatima had started. The lady constantly stayed on the phone talking about personal issues, which was annoying. I was in their studio from 8am until 5pm that day. The end result is my hair is breaking around my edges because the micros are snapping off. I won't be back. The charge for my micros were $240.00 medium size.
