Totally Tan & Spa - Albertville

Loyal customer since 2019—Extremely disappointed in recent service… I have been a dedicated customer of Total Tan & Spa in Albertville since 2019, consistently paying $99.95/month for the Spa Plus membership. While I’ve enjoyed my time here in the past, a recent string of poor customer service experiences has been unacceptable. On Saturday, Jan 17th at 3:00 PM, I checked in for the Infrared Cocoon. The staff (a strawberry blonde and a brunette) confirmed it was available and just needed a "quick cleaning." Instead of cleaning the equipment, they spent time trying to upsell me on a toning product. After I declined, I watched them ignore the task to chat about their personal lives. The tanning is fine, the people who work here are nice. The company is a predatory operator who refuses to pursue even the basics of good customer service. They operate like a timeshare scam, laying traps for customers to fall into while hiding behind extremely brief disclosures given in seconds by teenagers who are not fully aware of the contract terms, while you stand in line and feel pressure by people waiting behind you. I was misled twice by employees while signing up, one told me that I should sign up for the highest plan, and then downgrade because it would save me money (it didn't, and I lost my prorated discount), and second when they told me I can cancel any time. (you can't, you can cancel ONLY before the 20th of each month. As if it takes 10 days to process a cancellation that

If Albertville had any other tanning option, I would never step foot in here again. I’m not paying the $110/mo membership because I’ve been down that road before with this place (hidden fees & impossible to cancel as others have mentioned) and have opted to pay for single sessions when I want to tan. Every time I go in for a single session, I get told how what I’m doing is useless & that their base bed “doesn’t even tan so it’s not worth doing the one time sessions”. Now this time I was told the same thing but in addition, “I should only go for 3 mins because I’m not that tan.” (I thought the base bed “doesn’t do anything” so why does it matter if I do the full time!!) I love the staff at the Albertville location! I bought a bottle of tanning lotion the other day and the employee knew everything there was to know about the three products I was interested in. The beds are great, the bulbs are changed on a regular basis, and it’s always ALWAYS clean!! The massage bed (I’m not sure what you call it? Bed? Table?) is nice too! The jets are strong and you can adjust it if needed. Relaxing place to be!

I've been to this location several times and I've loved each time. The people are so friendly and they take their time to explain things to you and sound like they enjoy their Job. The rooms are very clean and the beds are in great condition in full working order and I get tan. The other locations I frequent are big lake and Monticello. Monticello is nice as far as the employee's. They need to change bulbs I've been doing everything correct and using good lotion and don't get as tan as the other locations. Crystal at Albertville helped me today and she was so super sweet and knowledgeable.
