Total Looks Threading Salon

I have been a loyal customer at this and this location and the one on Amsterdam since 2014, same owner for both. Unfortunately, my recent experiences this summer have been extremely disappointing due to lack of air conditioning during the summer months, especially on days where the temp exceeded 90 degrees. Instead of providing a comfortable environment, the salon had only dirty fans that blow hot air making the experience unbearable. My last visit was particularly excruciating due to the heat and humidity, when I questioned why the air conditioning was never turned on I was told “the owner does not want it turned on” It’s really shocking to learn that he doesn’t care about the comfort of his customers and employees, especially considering how dangerous that can be for some. I come here once a month and only walk in when I see it’s not busy. They are sweet and do a great clean up 💗

Always a good visit. All kinds of walk-ins are welcomed (even if it is super busy). But of course, you must be willing to wait your turn if you come in on a super busy day, with no appointment and a large request. I've had facials done here, bikini waxes (they use numbing spray and it's way less painful than hard wax at pricier salons on spas). They always get my eyebrow shape right and keep it on the thicker side, as I prefer. I did lashes once here as well and it was pretty nice and very swift (10 mins). A girl saw them and asked if she could be squeezed in for that same service, despite them being minutes away from closing. They accommodated her. Fyi- they are very affordable and work very hard. Regrettably, I have to give Total Looks a negative review after six years of great service. It seems their staffing changes have resulted in poor quality. This goes for the Broadway and 8th Avenue location. The waxing service is still good, but the new ladies do not apply eyelash extensions well at all. A few weeks ago, the lashes fell off the same day. Last week, they fell off in three days. At $45 that is a lot of time and money wasted. Another customer also came in to Broadway location complaining about a poor lash job at 8th. The new staff do not understand enough English to communicate what you want. I found this place this summer and love how they thread my brows. They are sweet and my brows look great and last a while. I highly recommend them. Also they thread in a way where you maintain your thickness. Let them know what you want your eyebrow goals to be.
