The Shop ATX

My favorite Barber shop in the Austin City Limits… the vibe in here is amazing, the music is always bumpin, the chairs are soooo freaking comfortable, and the skill that this one shop has is incredible. I get my hair cut by Andres Castro, been going to him for 2+ years now and I couldn’t recommend him enough. He is focused, skilled, and a master at making sure you get the exact cut you want… fades, feather cut, beard trims, crop fade, the list goes on. I highly recommend him if you’re stopping in or booking ahead. If you find yourself waiting, they have a lounge upstairs, complimentary refreshments for before or during your cut. Cannot go wrong with the Shop ATX. (Plus they have some fire merch)

I can’t thank The Shop ATX enough, especially Joaquin, for coming to my rescue during a true hair emergency. Long story short, my girlfriend tried to help with a haircut and accidentally used a 1 on the sides, thinking it was a 3. Things went south fast. I showed up at The Shop pretty panicked, and Joaquin came through like a total pro. He worked some real magic and gave me a clean burst fade that completely saved the look. You couldn't even tell there was a mistake to begin with. On top of that, he even took ten dollars off the cut, which was seriously generous and so appreciated. The vibes at The Shop ATX are great, everyone is friendly, and the talent is real. Joaquin, you're a legend. I’ll definitely be coming back. No more DIY cuts for me.

Flew in from Charlotte NC to visit a friend and needed a cut since I didnt have time to get one before I traveled. I got Joaquin and he was knowledgable and took care of me. He gave me my mid taper and shaped up my beard. Got me in and out and I was satisfied with the service.

Moved to Austin in January from NYC. As a NY Italian I’m very particular about my hair and do care a lot. Had some pretty bad haircuts in Austin, this is not one of them. I go to David (corner chair) and will continue to. He’s been my barber for 5 or so haircuts in the span of 2 months. He is absolutely an excellent barber hands down. Besides just being a cool guy to shoot it with in general while getting the cut, he does EXACTLY what you ask for. He even goes beyond what you expect and has your hair looking better than what you would’ve thought it would look like when he’s done. Truly an impressive barber with skills. The Shop ATX is the best barbershop I have been to. The hospitality is always great and you will always feel welcomed there. My personal favorite barber there is going to be Aaron Alba. Aaron has been cutting my hair for years now, the fades he provides can transform you into a new person. The bond we have built over the years of Aaron cutting my hair has felt more like I’m getting my haircut by a brother. If you are considering getting a men’s haircut, I would most definitely consider this barbershop. There are multiple awesome barbers in there.
