The Rivet at Discovery Space

I saw this place on channel 8 fox the news now program. I love it and am more curious than ever to go and check out this place. Possible do a tour with our car club Mid State and More in the near future. We have been doing some different tours at least once a year with different organization. Sometimes this can be an over whelming job to find things for our car club to do. So we are very happy to possibly do a tour there. My daughter started coming here for the kids Saturdays when it was only Ms. Nicole and her doing pottery, and we were so happy to see throughout the months and year to see it explode into what it offers now. Despite adding so many more activities like woodturning, 3d printing, woodburning, etc, they've still kept their friendly and open demeanor making an atmosphere of learning and sharing.

Ah man, what a great place! The staff are friendly and helpful, and I've been having a ton of fun taking their classes. It's also really nice to see people of all ages joining in the fun and mixing. The world could use more places like this in our age of disconnection.

I am so excited that this space exists in State College! I have completed the large woodworking and small power tool clearances. But as a woman with no ‘shop’ experience - I would like to see an actual women only wood shop class to take a project from start to finish. Hopefully that is coming in the near future!

Absolutely wonderful community makerspace! The staff are super helpful and brilliant when it comes to assisting in projects. And there are so many resources and equipment and the guided and clearance classes are so cheap. I recommend anyone near the State College area check out The Rivet!
